Don't Stop the Party for the Bridal Party Photos
When you get all of your friends together they are going to bring their unique personality to the photos and you need a photographer who will go with the flow and let their personalities shine. That's when the magic happens. The bridal party usually shows up pretty eager to party. I regularly see bridesmaids dancing with mimosas and champagne bottles in the room where they are doing hair and makeup to a wedding playlist that takes them back to their college days and groomsmen sneaking in coolers, wrestling, and making the groom's ready room look like a continuation of the bachelor party throwing cornhole and scattering poker chips even while fixing their ties. When you have a big group in this kind of mood, enjoying each other, looking their best and ready to get to the reception, it's so important for the photography to add to the fun and not take away from it. A wedding is a celebration and your wedding photographer should capture that vibe. I'm not the photographer for you if you are looking for someone to be anal about where every single person is tilting their head and standing. I think people look their best when it looks more natural. I am much more likely to take the whole group on a short hike down to a creek or over to the horses to explore the venue and let them get into a little mischief while occasionally asking everyone to "get together... closer... now put your arms around each other... shake each other a little bit... now laugh at the groom... Boom. Lets move on."
